Summary[]
BLAST FROM THE PAST – Liam’s (guest star Jason Gedrick) shocking history makes Cat (Kristin Kreuk) delve deeper into the Ellingsworth family, where she learns of their tragic past. Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Cat realize that they will need to use their secret weapon if they want to take Liam down. Meanwhile, JT (Austin Basis) has a theory about how to save himself but it involves none other than Liam.
Plot[]
When Catherine is not having nightmares about Liam, she envisions herself as an old lady with a young beast. After Cat wakes up, she, Heather and Vincent decide their best bet to trick Liam into having his memory wiped. Thanks to Tess’s mission to help JT with his bucket list, JT makes the opening shot at a hockey game for charity. JT appreciates what Tess did but he’d rather help Catherine and Vincent catch Liam. When Catherine gets called into an interrogation room with Internal Affairs, she does what she always does in these situations. She tells them to “call her union rep” and walks out. At the hospital, Vincent gets a VIP referred patient. Helen Ellingsworth is there because her “Liam spoke very highly” of Dr. Keller. She is shocked when Vincent tells her that her “brother” is poisoning her with Thallium. Helen doesn’t believe him, but he is determined to save her life nonetheless. Unfortunately, Liam’s plan was to murder Helen and then make it look like Vincent accidentally killed her by prescribing the wrong treatment. Catherine goes to prison to visit Reynolds. Bob admits that he knew about the lifespan of beats and explains that was part of the reason he tried to keep Vincent and Cat apart. Bob agrees to wipe Liam’s memory, but Cat has to get him out of prison for the day. At home, Catherine delegates the memory-wiping-ingredient-list to Heather while she figures out how to get Reynolds out of prison. Heather is more worried about Cat’s will that she found lying around. Cat brushes it off as paranoid educed by Vincent’s longevity. Heather agrees to get the ingredients to JT if Cat “burns the damn will”. At the Gentlemen’s Club, Heather arrives with the ingredients. Cat helps her set them up when Vincent crashes through the window with Reynolds. Bob uses the ingredients to create the memory wiping concoction while wearing JT’s shirt. JT and Tess walk in and freak out that Reynolds is there, but Bob explains that he is their best bet at stopping Liam without killing him. While setting up for the funeral, Liam is ambushed by Vincent. Vincent shoots Liam with the tranq gun three times. Liam is not amused. Liam goes to beast out but he can’t. He asks Vincent what he has done. Vincent says it is all Catherine. Cat steps out of the shadows holding the gem. Since Liam is getting some memory work done, he misses Helen’s funeral, but thanks to a conveniently pre-written eulogy, Vincent and Catherine realize that he planned to blow up the church to end the Ellingsworth line. They arrive to the church just in time to stop the second bomb and save the Ellingsworth family. After drawing some of Liam’s blood, Reynolds manages to make Liam forget about his vendetta against the Ellingsworths. However, that only ignites his revenge desire against Alistair and Rebecca. Bob yells for JT to get Heather out of there. When Catherine goes back to the club, she finds JT and Heather outside looking distraught. She asks where her dad is and when they don’t answer, she and Vincent run inside to find the club destroyed and Reynolds mauled in a pile of debris. Vincent takes Reynolds’ body to Central Park and called the police from a burner phone so they will find Bob quickly. Catherine shares her concerns about beast longevity with Vincent, as Liam watches them from a distance. |
Quotes[]
Heather: Saved by the beast.
Heather: Somebody want to catch me up here?
Catherine: Oh, it's nothing. It's just that my father erased Vincent's memory and turned him into a beast assassin. You were in Miami.
