Summary[]
VINCENT GOES INTO HIDING – With Vincent (Jay Ryan) in hiding and Cat’s (Kristin Kreuk) job on the line, they must re-group about how to bring down the people hunting beasts. Vincent tries to infiltrate a private army, while Cat scrambles to obtain information and hopes that no one at work discovers her ulterior motives.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Vincent coming home and Catherine telling him that DHS is still after him. Vincent doesn’t seem to care. SWAT storms in. Vincent beasts out. SWAT shoots him. Vincent wakes up from his nightmare on a park bench. He jumps into a tree right as search dogs and flashlights approach. Morgan, a domestic terrorism DHS agent, asks Catherine why she thinks Hill framed Vincent. Cat explains that she and Vincent thought they were doing the right thing by investigating Agent Russo’s murder. Agent Morgan is curious as to why DHS wanted a doctor’s help. Cat goes with the easy answer “He was special forces.” Tess wants JT to worry less about Vincent and more about himself and what will happen if the professor is caught hacking into DHS and helping a fugitive. Agent Kerry Duffy comes in with a warrant to take JT’s computers and want him to come in for questioning about Vincent. Luckily, Tess had told him to wipe his computers shortly before they came. Agent Duffy takes JT to Agent Morgan who puts him in a waiting room with Heather. Tess calls Cat to fill her in on JT and Heather’s whereabouts. Cat doesn’t get a chance to respond because Vincent blurs her to the rooftop to avoid detection. To prove Vincent’s innocence, he suggests finding a paper money trial for Hill’s hired assassins. Vincent suggests that Cat throw him under the bus to DHS so that they trust her. They kiss and run (or blur) in opposite directions when they hear the whirling of a helicopter. Catherine goes to Agent Morgan and tells him that she loves her husband and doesn’t want to be a widow. Cat says she will help them bring Vincent in, if they bring him in alive and if she can look at Hill’s files. Morgan doesn’t entirely buy it but tells Agent Duffy to give Cat the files in hopes that Cat slips up. Vincent lures Kane, the bounty hunter by pretending to have information about the beast. Kane shows up and Vincent captures him. Vincent ties Kane up in the tunnels and has JT bring some medical supplies to Catherine’s office. Vincent blurs JT and the supplies away (as he did with Cat earlier). Vincent takes JT and the supplies to the tunnels. JT is surprised to see Kane hanging from the ceiling. Vincent uses the supplies to create a truth serum while JT tries to talk him out of it. Catherine worries about Vincent getting caught. Tess wants Cat to turn him. Back in the tunnels, Kane babbles about all his crimes dating back to his teen years. Kane spits out that the company behind the Beast bounties is Graydale Securities (which according to JT is “like Blackwater on steroids”). Catherine and Vincent meet under the bridge where they realize that Graydale is behind the beast hits and the beast bounties. Vincent walks through Graydale’s front doors with an unconscious Kane and offers to take over the beast job because he took down their best man. The head of Graydal, Peter Braxton asks Vincent why he is there. Vincent explains that he knows that Hill hired Graydal to go after him. Vincent says that he can work for Graydal if Braxton provides him some safe-haven from the feds. In any case, Catherine calls Heather and Tess to her apartment and tells them she is ready to turn Vincent in because she is afraid of what might happen to him. She tells the same to Agent Morgan and they set up a “trap” for Vincent. He escapes on account of him being a beast but seems hurt that Cat would betray him like that. Later at Il Cantuccio, Catherine confesses to Tess and JT that it was all an act to make DHS trust her. Cat wanted to tell him the plan before but they never had time, she only hopes that he knows that she would never betray him like that. At the hospital, Heather tells Kyle the truth about Vincent (but not the whole truth): Vincent did some dangerous work for Homeland Security. In the tunnels, Catherine arrives to find Vincent lurking in the shadows. He admits that his shock was an act like her betrayal was. Cat didn’t have time to explain her plan, but he “read her heart”. |
