Summary[]
CAT AND VINCENT STRIKE BACK — When an unstoppable assassin hunts down Cat (Kristin Kreuk) and Vincent (Jay Ryan), they attempt to lure him out of town and away from their loved ones with the ruse that they plan to elope. Meanwhile, tired of being under police protection, JT (Austin Basis) asks Tess (Nina Lisandrello) to help him track down a lead while a distracted Heather (Nicole Gale Anderson) attempts to focus at her new job.

Catherine’s plan to “keep everyone safe” is to fake-elope. That way Vincent and Cat can lure the super-assassin and/or whoever is behind the experiments out of town and away from their loved ones. Vincent and Cat call JT for an update on who is behind the serum. JT hasn’t had much time to go down to the lab with his 24-hour protective custody in tow. Vincent notices a mercenary in the shadows and blurs away with Cat, leaving the burner phone behind. Vincent and Catherine arrive at the hospital on stretchers for “chemical burns”. The mercenary not far behind. Once on the 5th floor, Vincent and Cat throw off the blankets and disconnected oxygen masks. Vincent thanks the firemen and says, “I owe you one.” A fireman says they are now even for Vincent saving his son. Inside a break room stealing candy bars and apples, Cat finds a wedding picture in one of the lockers. She gets the idea to fake elope to lure the assassin away from Heather, Tess and JT. The assassin bursts in and tries to take them down but Cat shoots the fire alarm to get people out and Vincent chases the assassin out of the hospital. At the precinct, Captain Vargas has a hard time explaining why two civilians (JT and Heather) need 24 hr. protective custody. Tess is a little hurt because JT is too busy worrying about Vincent to notice her struggle to balance her new job and superhuman hunting. Heather is not happy with her police detail. They get in the way of her job hunt. Job interviewer Julianna says her move from New York to Miami back to New York makes her seem unreliable. Fortunately for Heather, Julianna overhears her speaking on the phone after she left the interview. Julianna is so impressed by Heather’s undelivered pinup pitch that she offers her a job. The assassin enters the lobby and walks through the building. Vincent and Catherine “elope” to Niagara Falls. They leave a trail of breadcrumbs for super-assassin to find. By having her laptop feed sent to her tablet, Cat learns that the super-assassin’s boss wants them alive. Heather gets rid of her bodyguards and follows Julianna to a secluded building. Heather discovers that her job interview was a ruse to torture her for information. Vincent calls JT and fills him in on the plan. Outside the assassin arrives at Niagara Falls. Vincent and Catherine step up to the alter. Vincent, ever the romantic, leaves Cat at the alter because he wants a special wedding. Catherine explains her plan is “get caught” so they can be taken to the super-assassin’s boss. Cat insists that the wedding is fake; but Vincent refuses to go through with it. He drags Cat away and explains that he wants their wedding to be perfect and magical. Something they remember for years (like his parents did). Cat is touched by his words, but she doesn’t get a chance to reply because the super-assassin abducts her in a blur. Vincent finds Cat and the super-assassin outside. The assassin tells Vincent that he will come with him or Cat dies. Vincent agrees. By the time Vincent and Catherine arrive at Julianna’s lab, she and the assassin know Vincent is a beast and tranq him accordingly. Julianna says that her new assistant let it slip. She flips on a switch to reveal Heather tied to a chair, beaten and yelling for her sister. Juliana turns off Heather’s lights and audio and goes back to interrogating Cat and Vincent. JT narrows down his search for the serum makers to a handful of labs. He just happens to walk in Julianna’s lab and frees Heather. Julianna identifies herself as the person behind the serum. She claims the serum and all the experiments were her way of protecting herself from an unnamed villain. She believes Vincent and Catherine work for this elusive man and when they deny it, she threatens to inject Vincent with a defective serum that will kill him. JT concocts a beast-espresso shot of epinephrine, testosterone and steroids and shoots Vincent with a tranq gun Heather finds lying around. Vincent snaps out of his beast slumber, frees Catherine and kills the experiment. Cat goes after Julianna and beats her into a coma. JT considers stopping a criminal and the gang’s survival a win. Tess is not impressed by his Vincent and Cat rescue. She doesn’t care about JT solving another case. She is tired of JT putting Vincent in front of everything else. She decides to break up with him and steals his sweatshirt. At home, over a bottle of wine Cat admits that seeing Vincent almost die made her realized she wants a wedding. |
